Season of Mists: The narrative begins with Lucifer Morningstar (Gwendoline Christie) abdicating the throne of Hell and handing its keys to Morpheus (Tom Sturridge). Among the contenders are Norse gods Loki (Freddie Fox), Odin (Clive Russell), and Thor (Laurence O’Fuarain). This arc also introduces Morpheus’s son, Orpheus (Ruairi O’Connor), whose tragic story intertwines with his father’s past decisions.
A Game of You: This storyline revisits Barbie (Lily Travers), a character introduced in Season 1. Barbie becomes ensnared in a dream world where she is a princess on a quest to defeat the sinister Cuckoo. This journey blurs the lines between dreams and reality, exploring themes of identity and self-discovery.
Season 2 also expands the portrayal of the Endless family. Adrian Lester joins as Destiny, the eldest sibling who possesses a book detailing all events in the universe. Esmé Creed-Miles portrays Delirium, the youngest and most unpredictable of the Endless, embodying chaos and creativity. Barry Sloane takes on the role of Destruction, also known as “The Prodigal,” who abandoned his duties long ago.
