Sharknado - 2013 - Review

Plot Overview
The plot of Sharknado is simple but bizarre. A freak storm hits Los Angeles, causing a massive shark-infested tornado to form and wreak havoc on the city. As sharks are swept up by the wind and rain, they begin falling from the sky, terrorizing the population below. It’s up to a group of survivors, led by a down-on-his-luck bartender named Fin (Ian Ziering), his ex-wife April (Tara Reid), and a group of unlikely heroes, to survive the storm and take down the sharks. The film follows their chaotic struggle to survive as they attempt to prevent further destruction and save their loved ones from the deadly flying sharks.

Sharknado' Heads to Theaters With a New 'Barbie' Vibe

Campy Fun and Over-the-Top Action
The most notable feature of Sharknado is its unrelenting commitment to absurdity. The concept of sharks being sucked up into a tornado and then raining down on an unsuspecting city is as ridiculous as it sounds. The film does not take itself seriously at all, leaning into its ridiculousness with shameless enthusiasm. The sharks, often shown in poorly executed CGI, are as comically outrageous as the idea of a sharknado itself.
