He finds refuge in the land of Midian, where he encounters a group of Hebrews, including the woman Zipporah, whom he marries. During his time in Midian, Moses has a divine encounter with God through a burning bush, where God reveals His plan for Moses to return to Egypt and free the Israelites from slavery.

Moses returns to Egypt, where he confronts Ramses and demands the release of the Hebrews. Ramses, unwilling to free the slaves, defies Moses, leading to a series of devastating plagues sent by God to convince Pharaoh to let the people go. Despite witnessing the suffering caused by the plagues, Ramses remains stubborn, leading to the ultimate plague—the death of the firstborn sons of Egypt, including his own son.

Finally, after the loss of his son, Ramses allows the Hebrews to leave. Moses leads the Israelites across the Red Sea, which parts miraculously to allow their escape, but then collapses behind them, drowning the pursuing Egyptian army. The film concludes with Moses and the Israelites embarking on their journey to the Promised Land.
