Despite witnessing the suffering caused by the plagues, Ramses remains stubborn, leading to the ultimate plagueโ€”the death of the firstborn sons of Egypt, including his own son.

Finally, after the loss of his son, Ramses allows the Hebrews to leave. Moses leads the Israelites across the Red Sea, which parts miraculously to allow their escape, but then collapses behind them, drowning the pursuing Egyptian army.
